Depression and anxiety are extremely common, and with
the right treatment, it’s possible to overcome the difficulties
they present. Yet there is a lot of shame associated with
having a mood disorder, which causes many people to hide the
problem instead of getting help.
There are also myths and misunderstanding about these
conditions that can keep people from even recognizing
that they might be suffering from depression or anxiety.
I like to educate my clients about these issues in order to
reduce the fear and shame that can lead to feelings of
low self worth and failure. My goal is to help my clients
understand the role of depression or anxiety in their lives,
so that they can be empowered to make informed choices about
how they want to manage symptoms that are bothersome.
